It is located in South and South West part of Ethiopia. The region has abundant natural resources-base such as vast water resources, potentially irrigable land, suitable climate with various agro-ecologies, and large number of labor forces. These show that the prospect of high investment is very promising. Not only these but also, it is the origin and largest producers of coffee in the country. In the past many investors were attracted to the region to develop those ample resources. They are enhancing the development through reduction of poverty, increasing accumulation of capital, creation of employment opportunity and increasing revenues of the government. By understanding the irreplaceable-dominant roles of the private investment for which the pillar of overall economic development, currently the Regional Government is doing the best to support the private sector. In addition it has put in place various investment incentives as well as established vibrant institutional structure through the entire region and provides quality services for potential investors by using skilled professionals. Southern Nations, Nationalities and Peoples Regional state (SNNPRS) is among the widest and most populous regions of the country. It is located in the East African rift valley, where there are unique scenarios such as lakes, national parks and certified man-made and natural antiquities. Apart from a number of endemic fauna and flora, 56 hospitable nations and nationalities with their fascinating diverse cultures living in one home with motto Our Diversity is Our Beauty, Our Beauty is Our Unity. SNNPRS has a land mass of 110,931.9 square kilometers with a population of 20 million. It is endowed with vast arable land, abundant water resources suitable for hydroelectric power generation and irrigated agriculture, agribusiness, untapped mineral resources including gold, potash, tantalum, natural gas, soda ash etc. To fulfill national vision becoming one of the middle income countries by 2025 the Regional government committed to achieve fast sustainable and double digit growth in all socio economic development activities and aiming to combat poverty and enhance development by laying foundation to the industry፣ to overtake leading roll of the economy. Land with all the required infrastructural facilities prepared in the major cities and towns of the Region as well as rural areas to be allocated, with concessionary lease rates, for investors wishing to invest in agro-processing among 3 agro processing industrial parks which will be constructed in the region Yrgalem agro processing industrial park is already started. SRA decentralized from ERA and its districts to regions in 1992 and structured as department under urban and works bureau. It was established as an institution in 1996 G.C Southren Roads Authority which is established based on the Federal Democratice Repulic Of Ethiopia in declaration of decentralized govrnance regulation given to the regions for the task in developing the regions road network in specific and the national network in general.
