A quarry is a place from which building materials are extracted: stones, sand or various non-metallic and non-tradable minerals, as opposed to mines. In other words, this term designates a complete industrial installation comprising an extraction site, machines used to process the extracted rock, hangars, workshops and storage areas. The extraction of materials is done by crushing which is the action of crushing, that is to say of reducing in small parts, with a tool, some hard or dry material, like stone or ore.
